Worth the extra over my old pair

Had a pair of $20 cowhide gloves before these. Same idea but you can feel the difference. Heavier liner, longer cuff doesn't bind at the elbow when I'm reaching into a frame I'm building. Used them mostly on MIG and the heat doesn't come through even when I'm working close to the puddle. Loop on the cuff is a small thing but I clip them to my apron between welds instead of dropping them on the bench.

Held up to a week of stick on heavy plate

Picked these up before a structural job last month. Five days of stick welding on 3/8" plate, mostly horizontal but some overhead. No burn through anywhere, no spatter making it past the cuff. Solid for forge work, took a session to break in

I do hobby blacksmithing on weekends and grabbed these for handling stock right out of the forge. The 662 rating gives me confidence pulling hot iron with tongs. They were stiff for the first session, took a couple hours of work before the leather softened up enough to grip comfortably. Once broken in they're great. Finally a glove that handles my wood stove

Pellet smoker upgrade

Use these mostly with my pellet smoker. Pulling racks of ribs out at 250 plus handling charcoal chimney duties on a side grill. The earlier silicone mitts I had were too bulky to grab tongs. These give me dexterity to pinch and grab while still protecting my forearm when I lean over the grate. The loop is handy for hanging them on the side of the cooker.
